AfrAsia Bank Cape Wine Auction 2014 raises over R7 million for charity

The-Cape-Wine-Auction-logoThe inaugural 2014 AfrAsia Bank Cape Wine Auction, which took place on Saturday at Delaire Graff Estate in Stellenbosch saw R7.045 million was raised for education in the Cape winelands with beneficiaries comprising the Pebbles Project, the MAD Charity and the Click Foundation. The role the undertaking plays in building the South African wine nrand also has to be acknowledged.

Highlights of the day included a cameo by artist John Adams whose live eight-minute surprise portrait of Nelson Mandela fetched  R460 000 on the auction. Other lots fetching high prices were: The Mulderbosch & Fable Mountain Vineyards American Dream Lot which sold for R700 000,The Glenelly Estate Lot (R450 000) and The DeMorgenzon & Royal Portfolio Lot (R400 000).
