WHY? Because this wine farm with its golf course and 4 Star lodge surrounded by vineyards and mountains also offers brilliant cuisine under the direction of chef Nic van Wyk, formerly of the estate’s Terroir restaurant. The lush gardens with pretty pond as well as a vintage barrel area are perfect for al fresco ceremonies, while there’s no shortage of scenic backdrops for photographs. A light, airy and modern function room with views into the maturation cellar has a built-in dance area wherever you wish thanks to laminated flooring, and can fit up to 120 people. Special packages include wedding night accommodation for the bride and groom with a romantic turn down service with bubbly and truffles. Choose from a variety of set menu or buffet-style options, but you’ll find the team more than willing to meet your expectations. Only Kleine Zalze wines, but there are plenty of good choices, but sparkling wine and Champagne can be brought in with corkage charged per bottle.

WE THINK…. couples seeking the ultimate intimate wedding, that is, a perfectly private celebration for two (and perhaps a few special friends) can chat to Kleine Zalze’s resident wedding coordinator about their “elope packages”.
