1 September – Flagstone at Nobu
The acclaimed Nobu restaurant at One&Only Cape Town will partner with Flagstone and its renowned winemaker, Bruce Jack, to serve seven exquisite courses along with Jack's own choice of his famous vintages. With arrival canapes like Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno on Skewers and main courses that include Steamed Japanese Halibut with Yamagobo Salsa, accompanied by a Sauvignon/Semillon, a Viognier and a Pinotage, among others. The dinner promises to be a memorable combination of world-class Japanese cuisine and some of the most highly regarded wines South Africa has produced. Time:19h00 Cost:R600 per person

2 September – Johannesburg Nedbank Cape Winemakers Guild Auction Showcase
Indulge yourself in exceptional wines, when members of the Guild present the 2010 collection of their finest selection of wines as a run-up to this year's Nedbank CWG Auction to be held in October. While there, you can chat to your favourite winemakers and bid on rare signed bottles from previous CWG Auctions during a Silent Auction in aid of the Nedbank CWG Development Trust.

2 September – SUPER-TUSCANS revisited with Caroline's Fine Wine Cellar, Cape Town.
Taste six Super-tuscans and two classic Tuscans. 2-4 September – The 6th annual Soweto Wine Festival 2010
The Soweto Wine Festival has built up cult status over the past 6 years. Having fun and learning about wine in a safe and vibrant atmosphere is truly the Mzansi way. And 2010 is bigger and better! The festival is being increased to 3 evenings plus they've added a large marquee so there is comfortable space for everyone to taste wine and have the time of your lives.
Tickets cost R60 per person and includes a free wine glass.

4-5 September – The Michael Fridjhon Wine Experience Weekend 2010
The 2010 Michael Fridjhon Wine Experience will see all five First Growths of the Medoc as well as Chateau d'Yquem (the only First Great Growth of Sauternes) – all from the same wonderful 1989 vintage, and therefore all at their plateau of maturity – as the wine line-up for the keynote tasting. Other Cru classé wines – including Chateau Leoville Las Cases 1989 and Chateau Suduiraut 1989 – will accompany the gala dinner – so that by the end of the evening it really will be possible to have a true sense of the Bordeaux hierarchy.
The Louis Roederer Champagne Brunch the next day will continue the tradition that has made this session a favourite among wine lovers. This year's most noteworthy innovation will be the inclusion of a special course designed to complement the service of Louis Roederer Cristal 2002.
The weekend will take place at the Hyatt Regency in Johannesburg.

4 September – Avril Kinsey performing at La Motte
Avril's recital at La Motte on the 4th of September will form part of the ‘Franschhoek Uncorked' wine festival, and will celebrate traditional European classic guitar compositions from Italy, Germany and Spain, as well as exotic Africa-inspired works.

The concert starts at 7pm and entrance is R140 per person. Guests will be welcomed with a glass of La Motte MCC upon arrival and a light finger dinner will be served once the performance has ended. Recently, we were very impressed by Rudiger Gretschel of Reyneke Wines in Stellenbosch. He will focus on their biodynamic and organic approach to wine growing. 29 September – CWG Winemakers Dinners
Join the members for small intimate dinners at one of six top winery restaurants. The chefs have tailor-made fantastic menus to complement wines from the members of the Guild.
Choose from one of the following restaurants (please note that seats are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis):
Catharina's – Steenberg Winery, Constantia
Cassia – Nitida Winery, Durbanville
Cuvee – Simonsig Winery, Stellenbosch
Guardian Peak Restaurant – Guardian Peak Winery, Stellenbosch
Overture – Hidden Valley Winery, Stellenbosch
Jordan Restaurant – Jordan Winery, Stellenbosch

There will be six winemakers at each dinner and they will move to different tables during the course of the evening, giving you the opportunity to meet and chat to at least three different winemakers. The 6 winemakers at each venue have combined their efforts in making a unique Charity Auction item for the dinner they will be attending. This once-off item will be auctioned during the couse of the evening and proceeds will be donated to the Guild's Protege Programme.
