Babylonstoren Sprankel

Does what it says on the label.

Sprankel from Babylonstoren in Paarl which won bronze at the recent Wine Label Design Awards also happens to be the best wine yet from this cellar. A Méthode Cap Classique from 100% Chardonnay, it spent four years on the lees and features zero dosage.

Aromatics include green apple, lemon and a subtle yeasty note while the palate is rich but refined with snappy acidity and a fine mousse, the finish long and super-dry. Price: R495 a bottle.

WinemagRating: 91/100.
