W.O. Stellenbosch. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Two and a half months of post-ferment maceration. Matured for 15 months in old oak. The name? Winemaker Pieter Walser is impressed with the white-glove approach to excellence which many Stellenbosch wineries display and this wine is an attempt to emulate them.
Red and black berries – just about manages to stay on the right side of over-ripe. Fruit-driven with nice acidity and relatively soft tannins. Fun to drink. Price: R155 a bottle.
