Proudly South African.

Proudly South African.

If more Cape Blends looked like Erfenis 2011 from Bosman Family Vineyards in Wellington, then maybe the category would have more of a following. A blend of 32% Pinotage, 19% Shiraz, 19% Cinsaut, 15% Cabernet Franc 15% and Merlot , there’s wide array of red and black berries plus attractive oak on the nose.  Fruit forward on the palate but not facile thanks to a good line of acidity and firm but fine tannins. It’s the cellar’s flagship offering and comes with a hefty price tag of R378 a bottle but thankfully doesn’t over-reach itself.

Score: 90/100.
