The fourth annual Cape Wine Auction, now sponsored by Nedbank Private Wealth took place on Saturday at Antonij Rupert Wines in Franschhoek, raising R22.3 million improving on the R15 million raised last year.

All proceeds raised at the auction, with no deductions, will be allocated to Cape winelands education.

Luxury travel packages and top-end wines  went under the hammer with a bespoke experience in Napa Valley, California, reaching a height of R3 million – the highest ever amount paid for lot in the history of the auction’s existence.
