Unadorned.

Unadorned.

The last vintage from “Grandpa Pollie’s 1978 vineyard” according to the 2009 edition of Platter’s . “Picked from 34-year-old vineyards” on the back label. 11 months in barrel, a third new.

A subtle wet-wool note on an otherwise shy nose. The palate showing pure citrus and white peach before a saline finish. Lean to the point of severe but somehow very more-ish.

Score: 91/100.
