Keep off the grass.

Keep off the grass.

Why would you want a Sauvignon Blanc reminiscent of grass clippings when it can be all about fruit? The Circumstance Sauvignon Blanc 2013 from Waterkloof in Somerset West is on the money showing intense white peach but also hints of lime and green apple. The wine’s not super-dry – the residual sugar is 4.2g/l – but this adds to the overall impression of juiciness. Really smashable but for the fact that it’s not that cheap at R90 a bottle.

Score: 87/100.
