David Nieuwoudt Ghost Corner Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Dressed to impress.

The David Nieuwoudt Ghost Corner Sauvignon Blanc 2014 was among the 20 finalists in last year’s FNB Sauvignon Blanc Top 10 competition and rated 5 Stars in the current edition of Platter’s so clearly it’s good kit.

From Elim grapes, vinfication involved six hours of skin contact and five months of lees contact. The nose shows lime, grapefruit and granadilla with just a hint of greenness in the background. It’s extraordinarily rich and concentrated on the palate, creamy in texture, the acidity nicely coated. Plenty of fruit power but not unbalanced – about as macho as Sauvignon Blanc gets. Liquor City Claremont price: R174.95 a bottle.

#WinemagRating: 92/100.
