Drink with spag bol.

The Esona vineyards are in Robertson and the wines are made at Arendsig by Lourens van der Westhuizen. Scores and tasting notes for two of its current release wines below:

Esona Single Vineyard Chardonnay 2010: 15/20
Price: R68

Citrus, vanilla and slight buttery note on the nose and palate. Medium bodied. Unassuming and entirely likeable.

Esona Single Vineyard Shiraz 2010: 14.5/20
Price: R83

Red fruit and slight reductive/rubbery note on the nose. Medium bodied with moderate acidity and soft tannins. Hint of spice saves it from being too plain.

To those curious to taste Esona Boutique Wines for yourself, we invite you to Wine Concepts SA, Newlands on 12 November from 4pm-7pm for a very educational in-store tasting with our viticulturist. Hope to see you there!
