I really liked the old Fable Mountain Vineyards label but apparently most people hated it. Yesterday I got a sneak peak of the Jackal Bird 2012 and its new packaging…

It’s a blend of 45% Chenin Blanc, 20% Grenache Blanc, 17% Roussanne, 9% Chardonnay and 9% Viognier. Pear and peach but also an intriguing herbaceous character. It’s relatively light bodied with bright acidity. Not perhaps as striking as previous vintages but plenty of finesse.

Score: 91/100.
