Pleasurable.

Pleasurable.

While I found the maiden 2011 vintage of the white blend that is Nurok from Fairview a bit too enigmatic to really like, the 2012 is pretty damn sexy. Consisting of 43% Viognier, 35% Chenin Blanc, 17% Roussanne and 5% Grenache Blanc, it’s a sumptuous, very polished wine showing plenty of white peach flavour – excellent concentration and zippy acidity. There’s also a touch of earthiness, even mushroom, to prevent it from becoming too easy. 5 Stars in Platter’s 2014, it costs R95 from the cellar.

Score: 92/100.
