Fram Cinsault 2016

Jolly juice.

Thinus Krüger of Fram gets in on the Cinsault act with this maiden release 2016, grapes sourced from Henk Laing’s farm on the Skurfberg near Citrusdal.

The nose and palate show red cherries and herbs, the wine coming across as light and fresh with gently grippy tannins. It’s appealing, as so many wines from this variety are, but short on real complexity. Approximate retail price: R155 a bottle.

Editor’s rating: 87/100.
