Investment wine.

Investment wine.

From the Nederburg Auction preview tasting: Whereas so many of serious SA red wines from the 1990s and 2000s struggle with composure the Grangehurst 2005 is looking imacculate. A blend of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot and 9% Petit Verdot, it shows red and black fruit, violets and fresh herbs in the best sense. Succulent yet savoury with lovely freshness and fine tannins. Classic stuff.

12 cases consisting of three-bottle magnums available. Reserve price per case: R2 000.

Score: 93/100.

    Hi,
I have two bottles of this wine in my cellar. Is it peaking now or does it have a few more years left?
    Cheers

Hi Eddie, My instinct would be that this wine is probably as resolved as its ever going to be but will stay on a plateau of development for a while still – it would be interesting to open a bottle in 2025…
