A flight of eight wines pitching Journey’s End against some of the “strongest and most prestigious” wine brands from South Africa and the rest of the world.

Scores and brief tasting notes for the Journey’s End wines below:

Score: 18/20
Mullineux Syrah 2010

Score: 17/20
Chapoutier Les Granits Saint Joseph 2008
Qupe 2006 (Santa Maria Valley, California)

Score: 16/20
Journey’s End 2007 – R120/bottle
Slight developed note on the nose. Dark fruit, spice and some meatiness on the palate. Broad with moderate acidity.

Score: 15.5/20
Mitolo GSM 2009 (McLaren Vale, Australia)

Score: 15/20
Hartenberg 2007
Jaboulet Parallele 45 Côte du Rhône 2009
Journey’s End Cape Doctor 2005 – R180/bottle
Very developed on nose and palate. Savoury overall as fruit has largely faded, acidity remains bright.
