"Making bad look good."

Seduction Pinot Noir 2012 (R98 a bottle from Vino Pronto in Gardens) from Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge winery La Vierge is red for a generation of Rihanna listeners – not particularly thought provoking but catchy as hell.

Very primary on the nose and palate with forward red fruit and some spice (thanks to 30% of the grapes fermented whole bunch). The grapes being from younger vines, winemaker Marc van Halderen has had the good sense not to over-oak it, maturing it for five months in older barrels. Score: 15/20.
