Le Lude Reserve Rosé

Tool of seduction.

Le Lude is a Franschhoek property owned by former attorney Nic Barrow and his wife Ferda. The cellar specialises in Méthode Cap Classique, Paul Gerber in charge of winemaking. Tasting notes and ratings for the new releases as follows:

Le Lude Reserve Brut
Approximate retail price: R190
60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir, 36 months on the lees. Aromas and flavours are extremely subtle: reen and yellow apple, white peach and a hint of freshly baked bread. Very little red fruit character in evidence. Lean and direct with a very fine mousse and a bone dry finish.

#WinemagRating: 90/100.

Le Lude Reserve Rosé
Approximate retail price: R195
65% Pinot Noir( including a small portion of Beaujolais-style red wine) and 35% Chardonnay. Onion skin in colour. Raspberry plus a little spice and earthiness on the nose. A sophisticated palate – good fruit definition, bright acidity and a delicate bubble before a very dry finish. A particularly elegant of pink bubbly.

#WinemagRating: 90/100.
