The Mulderbosch Single Vineyard Series of Chenin Blanc is a set of three wines (R500 per pack) each made from a different site in Stellenbosch. In order to reflect vineyard as authentically as possible, winemaking practices were kept constant: Fermentation in neutral barrels, started spontaneously and completed with a selected strain, maturation lasting 10 months.

Tasting notes as follows:

Block A 2013
From granite soils on the southern slopes of the Bottelary Hills. Honeysuckle, white peach and some earthiness on the nose. A compelling wine with lovely texture, good freshness and a long, saline finish.

Score: 91/100.

Block S2 2013
From shale soils on the northern slopes of the Bottelary Hills. Citrus through white peach. Relatively lean with driving acidity and a pithy finish.

Score: 89/100.

Block W 2013
From granite soils in Faure (close to False Bay). Yellow peach, apricot and pineapple plus a subtle yeasty note. Concentrated, rich and broad – old school in style.

Score: 88/100.
