Split personality.

The Wild Child 2014 from Durbanville property is smart enough but I’m not sure it entirely lives up to its name. It’s from Sauvignon Blanc which underwent spontaneous fermentation in French oak, 45% new before six months of maturation.

Aromas and flavours of lime, peach, cassis and a little white pepper. Good fruit concentration, fresh but coated acidity and the oak nicely integrated. As opposed to being off the wall, it’s actually quite polished. Price: R135 a bottle.

Score: 89/100.
