Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show 2010: Relative success of categories

Below is a list of all the gold medals (including museum class) awarded per category over the nine years that the Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show has been running. It is interesting to note that on this basis Cabernet Sauvignon is the strongest category over time, followed by Chardonnay and then Bordeaux-style red blends. Those that argue South Africa makes better white than red wine will also be surprised to note that the competition has awarded more medals for red than for white.
