Sijnn Touriga Nacional 2014

Thumping.

The Touriga Nacional 2014 from David Trafford’s Malgas property Sijnn is a perfectly proportioned giant of a wine. Inky black in colour, the nose shows plenty of dark fruit but also flowers, fynbos and earth. The palate is extraordinarily dense – the initial impression is one of sweetness but the wine is not short of freshness and the finish is nicely savoury. Wine Cellar price: R215 a bottle.

Editor’s rating: 93/100.
