Spot review: Sauvignon Blanc 2011

It's dry but you can drink it.

Three more or less entry-level examples of 2011 Sauvignon Blanc tasted sighted and scored according to the 20-point system:

Boschkloof 2011
Price: R54
Wine of Origin Western Cape – 12.42% abv
Grassy notes on the nose. The palate shows clean, pure fruit and bright acidity. Not hugely complex but balanced and refreshing. 15/20

Kloovenburg 2011
Price: R64
Wine of Origin Coastal Region – 12.5%
Slight reductive note to otherwise neutral nose. The palate is very thin and overtly acidic. 13/20

Splattered Toad 2011 (Cape Point Vineyards)
Price: R44
Wine of Origin Western Cape – 13.5%
Granadilla on the nose and palate. Upfront fruit and gentle acidity makes for an easily accessible wine. 14.5/20
