The Fledge & Co. Syrah 2015

Acid trip.

Leon Coetzee of The Fledge & Co. is reluctant to go on record as to where he sourced grapes for Syrah 2015 so let’s just say the vineyard’s on shale soils somewhere in the Klein Karoo.

The nose is still very primary with notes of red, black and blue fruit, flowers and black pepper. It’s deep and full flavoured despite and alcohol of just 13.02% and the acidity is fresh to the point of tart but this does give the wine individuality – some time in bottle will do this no harm. Price: R175 a bottle.

#WinemagRating: 91/100.
