From Black Elephant Vintners in Franschhoek, this wine shows pear and white peach. Very pleasant which is not to damn it with faint praise – good concentration and nicely coated, relatively soft acidity. Quite pricy at R85 a bottle.

Score: 85/100.

  1. I am a Duty Manager at Kensington Place Hotel. we serve at list 10 bottles of Timothy White a day. I grew interest in the wine and what makes it so common. With 33% Sauvignon Blanc, blend , i find it rather fascinating as its dry but somewhat robust in its taste as you swallow it, i highly recommend Timothy White to all our Guests, as this White wine is nothing short of charisma. And yes, it is our House Wine.

    • Hi Mclean, Thanks for your comment – interesting to note that the 2013 was a straight Sauvignon Blanc whereas the 2016 is 35% Chenin Blanc, 33% Sauvignon Blanc (as you say), 24% Semillon and 8% Viognier.
