True blue.

A visit to the Neighbourgoods Market at the Old Biscuit Mill on Saturday where I discovered that Elgin cidermaker William Everson now has a  product made from pears. More difficult to make than its counterpart from apples in terms of arriving at a suitably low pH as well as clarity, it’s a touch drier as well as lower in alcohol by volume – 4.5% vs. 7%. Delicious – R18 per 340ml bottle or R100 a six-pack.
