Nederburg Private Bin Edelkeur 2005 – trophy for best dessert wine at Tri Nations Wine Challenge 2010.

The eight annual Tri Nations Wine Challenge saw New Zealand emerge as the winning country overall. Results were announced in Sydney on Friday 17 September.

Craggy Range Te Muna Road Vineyard Pinot Noir 2008 took the Red Wine of Show and also Four Seasons Hotel Wine of Show. McWilliams Mount Pleasant Lovedale Semillon 2005 took the White Wine of Show.

The “By invitation only” Challenge judged a total of 360 wines across 13 classes from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. The judges were Bob Campbell MW of New Zealand, Michael Fridjhon of South Africa and Huan Hook of Australia.

New Zealand took six trophies, Australia five and South Africa two (Kaapzicht Steytler Vision 2006 winning in the Non-Bordeaux red blends category and Nederburg Private Bin Edelkeur 2005 in the dessert wines category).

The aggregate scores were extremely close being 483, 481 and 479 respectively showing the highly competitive nature of the Challenge.
