Distell are often pretty shameless when it comes to packaging. The Pongrácz bottle, for instance, closely resembles that of iconic Champagne Krug and the Desiderius Pongrácz that of Louis Roederer Cristal.

Now the Zonnebloem flagship Lauréat label gets a make-over and where do the designers seek inspiration? Why, from the great Pomerol estate of Petrus, of course. The 2010 vintage is ostensibly a Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot blend. It’s medium bodied with clean red fruit, bright acidity and fine tannins. Well put together but Petrus, it ain’t. Score: 16/20.
