    Hi Christian,
Any idea who judged on the panel?

Hi François, This year’s judges were: Allan Mullins (Chair), Jeff Grier, Higgo Jacobs, Cathy Marston, Paul Gerber, Linley Schultz and Heidi Duminy with Sandile Mkhwanazi joined the panel as associate judge. A more than competent panel but as I’ve argued before, a seven-person panel is simply too big. Great rather than simply good or technically correct wines very often sit at a stylistic extreme and therefore tend to divide panels, at least at first – the bigger the panel, the more difficult it is to arrive at consensus.
