Ataraxia Chardonnay 2016

No mess, no fuss.

After a stint at Hamilton Russell Vineyards, Kevin Grant has been making wine under his Ataraxia label since 2005 and his credentials as a Chardonnay specialist are well established. Current release is the 2016, grapes from Grant’s Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge property. It’s a text-book example with citrus and some biscuit-like character on both nose and palate. Concentrated fruit, seemingly quite moderate acidity, no rough edges. Price: R265 a bottle.

Rating: 90/100.
