DGB-owned Boschendal has announced that Jacques Viljoen, previously of Zevenwacht in Stellenbosch, will take up the position of cellar master on the estate from 1 August. This comes after news in May that Stephan Joubert who had been group viticulturist would replace JC Bekker as group winemaker after the latter’s move to Rupert & Rothschild. Richard Duckitt, previously responsible for red wines at Boschendal, is now Bellingham winemaker (after Niel Groenewald’s departure to Nederburg) while Lizelle Gerber continues to look after Boschendal white wines and MCC.
