Fable Mountain Vineyards appoints new winemaker

After the shock departure of winegrowers Rebecca Tanner and Paul Nicholls from high-profile Tulbagh winery Fable Mountain Vineyards earlier this year, owners Terroir Life have announced that Tremayne Smith, previously assistant winemaker at Mullineux and Leeu Family Wines.

Terroir Life was founded by Charles Banks, former owner of cult California winery Screaming Eagle. Other wineries in the portfolio include Mayacamas, Qupé and Wind Gap in the US, Trinity Hill in New Zealand and Mulderbosch in South Africa.

    Does anyone know what Rebecca & Paul will be doing now, since leaving?
    I remember, with much fondness, tasting their wines with them at Fable on a wildly windy & rain-drenched day this time last year… So sad to hear of their shock “removal”!
