Hermanuspietersfontein Nr 7 Kaalvoet Miesie Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Fancy-free.

Hermanuspietersfontein has historically had number of different examples of Sauvignon Blanc but the range is undergoing consolidation and the wine previously known as Nr 7 , a Sauvignon Blanc with “a potentially small percentage of Semillon and Nouvelle” will be renamed Kaalvoet Meisie going forward.

The grapes come from the Sondagskloof farm which belongs to co-owners Johan and Mariëtte Pretorius and Wilhlem Pienaar, previously of Nederburg, is now incumbent as winemaker.

The newly released 2015 vintage  has aromas of white peach, grapefruit and pineapple while the palate shows pure fruit and zesty acidity with a little white pepper bite on the finish. It’s a sexy little number.  Price: R105 a bottle.

#WinemagRating: 91/100.
