Klein Constantia Sauvingon Blanc 2015

Pretty as a midsummer’s morn.

The soon-to-be released 2015 of the Klein Constantia Estate Sauvignon Blanc is elegant and precise, as is becoming winemaker Matthew Day’s trademark.

There are notes of pear and white peach plus a little fynbos on the nose while the palate shows lovely pure fruit offset by a little paprika-like bite. The acidity is fresh but not seering, the finish long and pithy. The wine is set to sell at R120 a bottle and Day says production is typically around 120 000 bottles – now there’s a going concern.

#WinemagRating: 92/100.
