Nedbank Cape Winemakers Guild Auction 2015 sales figures

Sales at the 31th Nedbank Cape Winemakers Guild Auction held yesterday amounted to R11 815 800 for 2 589 cases compared to R11 929 600 for 2 853 cases in 2013, average price per case amounting to R4 599, an increase of almost 10% year on year (average price per bottle being R767).

Tsogo Sun was the biggest buyer for the second consecutive year with total purchases of over R2 million. 84% of the wines were bought by local buyers.

The three most sought-after wines based on an average price per case equivalent of 6 x 750ml were Kanonkop CWG Paul Sauer 2012 (R10 135), Boekenhoutskloof Syrah Auction Reserve 2012 (R9 150) and Beyerskloof Trail Dust Pinotage 2013 (R9 053).
