Nederburg Private Bin Eminence 2012

Hardcore.

The Private Bin Eminence 2012 from Nederburg continues to pick up awards most recently placing among the top 10 at the Muscats du Monde competition in France having also won the trophy for best unfortified dessert wine at this year’s Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show and national sweet wine trophy at the International Wine Challenge.

From 27-year-old Muscat de Frontignan vines in Simondium, grapes were picked at 40⁰ Balling, final analysis as follows: Alc 9.5%, RS 240g/l, TA 9.56g/l and pH 3.4.

On the nose, apricot, dried herbs and a little spice. The palate is intense flavoured but also really fresh, the finish savoury. A striking wine, technically very accomplished but quite demanding to drink. Made for sale at the Nederburg Auction.

#WinemagRating: 92/100.

I’ve never managed to get my hands on the Nederburg Private Bin Eminence offerings. Any suggestions as to where one might be able to buy this (besides directly at the property)? Thanks!
