Reverie Chenin Blanc 2014

By , 22 October 2015

Lovely as a summer day.

Lovely as a summer day.

Reverie is the own-label Chenin Blanc that Winery of Good Hope winemaker Jacques de Klerk makes from a 1978 Swartland vineyard and the 2014 (Wine Cellar price: R165 a bottle) is even more refined and intricate than the impressive 2013.

A marvellously complex nose of citrus, white peach, potpourri, dried herbs, honey and a little lanonlin. Pure and fresh with a little tonic-water bitterness on the finish. In terms of texture, it has a sort of plumpness about it even though the alcohol by volume is just 11.5%. Irresistible.

#WinemagRating: 94/100.
