Sons of Sugarland Syrah 2015

Great stories never start with somebody eating a salad.

From the collective behind Patatsfontein Chenin Blanc, grapes for this wine come from Stellenbosch, 100% whole bunch used in the fermentation.

On the nose, it shows some floral fragrance before mainly red fruit, spice and white pepper. The palate is relatively medium bodied with fresh acidity and soft tannins. It’s a very appealing offering but perhaps a bit short of gravitas to justify its R275-a-bottle price tag.

#WinemagRating: 91/100.
