The top three wines in the inaugural RE:CM 10 Year Old Wine Awards are as follows:
Boekenhoutskloof Syrah 2003
Remhoogte Estate Wine 2003
Rudera Syrah 2003

The competition was launched to commemorate the tenth anniversary of asset management firm RE:CM, the aim being to recognise the best South African reds a decade on from vintage.

Sometimes I have to read about how good a wine is and then find some hidden qualities which make it good, but sometimes a wine just immediately grabs your taste buds with it’s excellence. The 2004 Hartenberg Shiraz (not the Gravel Hill) i drank recently was such a wine. It was simply superb. Christian, please ensure to include it in your tasting of 10 year old wines next year!
