The Fledg & Co. Klipspringer 2017

Agile.

Leon Coetzee and Margaux Nel  of The Fledg & Co. have done an neat job with Klipspringer 2017, their take on old-vine Swartland Chenin Blanc. Matured for nine months in old oak, the nose is very aromatic with top notes of hay and herbs before pear, peach and citrus. The palate is tight and focused – pure fruit, zingy acidity and a super-dry, pithy finish (alcohol: 12.5%). It’s light yet flavour-packed – a good buy at R165 a bottle.

Editor’s rating: 93/100.
