Champagne Jacquinot & Fils Symphonie 2008

Fabulous farmer fizz.

Champagne Jacquinot & Fils is located in Epernay founded by Pierre Jacquinot and sons in 1947. Jean-Manuel  Jacquinot, a grandson of Pierre and the current head of the company and winemaker, relates that there are 17ha under vineyard, seven of which are used for own production and the grapes of the remaining 10 sold to the “Golden Arches”, in this case Moët rather than McDonald’s. “We have 400m of underground cellar which is a little bit less than Moët’s 32km but it it does take 106 steps to get down there, which makes us second only to Pommery who have 116 and ahead of Veuve Clicquot who have 103”.

Reciprocal are agents for Jacquinot in South Africa and the following wines are available:
Champagne Jacquinot & Fils Private Cuvée Brut
Price: R545
70% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir. Mainly from the 2012 vintage but including 20% reserve wine. White peach, citrus and some yeast complexity. Rich and broad with a creamy mousse. Rating: 88/100.

Champagne Jacquinot & Fils Blanc de Blancs

Champagne Jacquinot & Fils Symphonie 2008

Champagne Jacquinot & Fils Harmonie 2004
