Die Hart Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

This is the second vintage of Die Hart Cabernet Sauvignon, a collaboration between David and Jeannette Clarke, owners of Ex Animo Wine Co. and Niels Verburg of Luddite, a wine made according to a deliberately old school aesthetic,

Grapes from Walker Bay, it was matured for 12 months in older oak. Aromatics include red and black berries plus undergrowth, earth and even a slight meatiness. The palate is medium bodied with bright acidity and pleasantly grippy tannins. It’s not overdone and a pleasant rusticity about it. Price: R175 a bottle.
