Highlands Road Sauvignon Blanc 2019

By , 25 September 2020

Highlands Road, Elgin.

The Sauvignon Blanc-Semillon blend that goes by the name of Sine Cera from Elgin property Highlands Road perennially rates high on this site and its stands to reason that the straight Sauvignon Blanc should be pretty smart, too.

The soon-to-be released 2019 is full of character if slightly rustic. On the nose, notes of apple, peach, mushroom, hay and an intriguing earthy character while the palate is rich and broad with a smooth texture and a savoury finish. It’s not predictable whatever else you might say about it. Price: R110 a bottle.

CE’s rating: 91/100.
