Lift the Eye Cape Red Blend 2019

Ashton Winery has launched a limited-edition, commemorative wine as a tribute to the opening of the new arch bridge in the town, the wine named Lift the Eye with R5 per bottle sold dedicated to community upliftment.

Consisting of 45% Pinotage, 22% Cabernet Franc, 22% Merlot and 11% Shiraz, maturation lasted 14 months in French oak. The nose shows red and blackberries plus subtle notes of fynbos, pepper and vanilla. The palate is approachable but not too light or inconsequential – sweet fruit, fresh acidity and fine tannins. Price: R500 per collector’s box or R250 for a stand-alone bottle.
