Putting a spin on it.

Now comes Endura 2017, grapes from a single vineyard on the Paardeberg in the Swartland, a portion fermented in a clay amphora, another in tank and another in barrel. The nose is a little unfamiliar with notes of orange and pineapple with an overlay of herbs plus honey, a little yeasty complexity and spice while the palate is rich and round with coated acidity – concentrated fruit, tangy acidity and a gently savoury finish. It makes for a most intriguing pour. Price: R200 a bottle.

Editor’s rating: 91/100.
