SA Wine Harvest Commemorative Event 2025

The SA Wine Harvest Commemorative Event is held annually at the beginning of February in commemoration of the first vintage on South African soil in 1659. This year, five industry figures were honoured for their lasting influence, these being:
Johann Krige, co-owner of Stellenbosch property Kanonkop – 1659 Visionary Leadership
Praisy Dlamini, general manager of Adama Wines – Growing Inclusivity
Benny Howard, Cape Wine Master and vice-chair of the SA National Wine Show Association – Wine Advancement
Jan Booysen – Viti- and Viniculture
Marcus Lewis, cellar foreman at Kanonkop – Wine Agri-Worker
