The other extreme.

For some time I’ve advocated a shift from ultra-green Sauvignon Blanc, but it is possible for the pendulum to swing too far the other way. The Reserve 2012 from Durbanville property (R75 a bottle) is big and rich with plenty of thiol-derived tropical fruit plus a certain “sweaty” character. It’s a serious effort but ultimately I think it’s over the top. Score: 15.5/20.

    Hi Christian
I had 6 bottles over about 4 weeks and the wine showed differently each time, (under cork to memory) and on occasion was even a touch muscaty – its an interesting drink and certainly instense would like to try again later down the line
