Nicely done.

The Sauvignon Blanc from Iona in Elgin usually takes at least 12 months from vintage to open up but the 2012 (R107.50) bottled a week ago is already looking great. Expressive without being at all exaggerated, it shows aromas of citrus, fynbos and jasmine.Take a sip and there’s a burst of fruit on entry before a bone-dry finish. Elegance is not a word to be bandied about but this wine most definitely is. Score: 17/20.
