Yesterday a bottle of Mentors Grenache Blanc 2010 from KWV. It was one of my top 12 wines of 2011 and it seems it’s only getting better in bottle.

First, a remark about the colour which is still remarkably youthful being pale yellow with a green tinge. As for aromas and flavours, it showed citrus, peach, spice and for the first time, a petrol-like quality not dissimilar to what you might find on a Riesling. Super-concentrated with driving acidity. Very well proportioned being not too lean or too fat. Splendid stuff.

Score: 95/100.
