John Loomes becomes KWV’s new CEO

John Loomes, new KWV CEO.
Effective 1 June 2023, John Loomes replaces Boyce Lloyd as CEO at major producer-wholesaler KWV. The leadership transition, which began in July last year, has been fast tracked – Lloyd was only supposed to step down in early 2024.
Loomes, who has experience in in the beverage, FMCG, and CPG sectors, has been serving as the CEO incumbent in a temporary COO role from September 2022 taking on responsibility for most functions and reporting lines. Speculation in some quarters is that Lloyd’s departure has been hastened by his wife’s controversial appearance in the kykNET reality show Die Real Housewives van die Wynlande – see here.
